Tottenham given huge Julian Nagelsmann chance as Chelsea favourite Thomas Tuchel finds next role

Tottenham's search for a new manager to replace the likely-to-depart Antonio Conte could be over with the future of Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann ominous. The tenure of Conte in north London looks to be coming to an very soon following a recent outburst directed at the club after the 3-3 draw with Southampton.

The Italian has endured a tough year personally losing two close friends in Gianluca Vialli and Spurs fitness coach Gian Piero Ventrone before undergoing emergency surgery in February. The trepid Champions League exit at the hands of AC Milan left many supporters questioning his commitment to the club.

Spurs were able to beat Nottingham Forest the following weekend but were played to a shock draw against Southampton where two goals were conceded in the final 15 minutes. Discussing the late collapse, Conte unleashed a barrage of criticism at the club. He said: "They are used to it here, they are used to it. They don't play for something important yeah? They don't want to play under pressure, they don't want to play under stress.

"It is easy in this way. Tottenham's story is this. 20 years there is the owner and they never won something but why The fault is only for the club, or for every manager that stay here? I have seen the managers that Tottenham had on the bench. You risk to disrupt the figure of the manager and to protect the other situation in every moment."

Another manager seemingly at risk of losing his job is Bayern's Julian Nagelsmann despite guiding the German giants into the Champions League quarter-finals. Domestically, Bayern have dominated the Bundesliga but currently find themselves in a three-way title race with usual high-flyers Borussia Dortmund and shock participants Union Berlin.

Following a 2-1 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen last weekend, Nagelsmann is now at risk of losing his job, according to Fabrizio Romano. While revealing that Nagelsmann could be sacked soon, the Italian journalist also details his replacement will be former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel.

The fates of those two managers could have a major impact on Spurs. Tuchel had been listed as one of many possible managerial targets for the club. Nagelsmann being available for work could be a massive opportunity for Spurs to snap one of the best young managers in world football.
