The value of Tottenham record signing Tanguy Ndombele has plummeted by more than €30m in just six months, according to the CIES Football Observatory.
Recruited from Lyon for €60m last summer, the Frenchman was valued at €78.9m as recently as January.
However, the latest CIES Football Observatory report on player values, which was published this week, puts the midfielder’s worth at just €48.8m.
CIES uses its own algorithm to rate player values based on their age, performances and interest from rival clubs.
Ndombele has struggled to make an impact for Tottenham this season, despite scoring on his Premier League debut.
Spurs boss Jose Mourinho publicly slated the 23-year-old France international after a 1-1 draw against Burnley in March.
Ndombele was substituted at half time, prompting Mourinho to say: “In the first half we didn't have a midfield.
“I have to say he [Ndombele] has had enough time to come to a different level. I know the Premier League is difficult, and some players take a long time to adapt to a different league. but a player with his potential has to give us more than he is giving us. I was expecting more in the first half from him.”
Get French Football News reported in April that Ndombele was considering his future in North London after being left upset at his treatment by the Tottenham manager, particularly after being asked to break lockdown rules by taking part in an individual training session with Mourinho on Hadley Common.
Ndombele has still managed 19 Premier League appearances for Spurs this season, but more will be expected of him when the 2019/20 campaign restarts again next week, with Tottenham up against Manchester United in their first game back on June 19 (8.15pm).
Mourinho and his coaches are said to be delighted with the player's application in recent months, and he looked lean, sharp and bright in footage from Spurs' most recent training game.
