Here is your Tottenham morning digest on Monday, December 13.
Tottenham first-team return to training
Tottenham’s first-team have returned to training following a Covid outbreak that postponed both the Rennes and Brighton games last week.
A number of players and staff caught the illness and the first-team section of the training ground was closed down.
However, according to the Daily Mail, players are back training on the pitch while the building itself stays closed.
The facilities should be able to reopen on Tuesday if all goes to plan, with Spurs preparing to take on Leicester in the Premier League on Thursday.
Antonio Conte on Christensen
Tottenham have been linked with a move for Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen in recent days, with Spurs boss Conte having already managed the Dane in his time at the club.
The 25-year-old is out-of-contract in the summer, meaning he could be free to leave Stamford Bridge if an extension isn’t negotiated.
Back in 2018, Conte backed him to be a Chelsea captain one day, saying: “I trust Christensen. I think this player is the present and also the future for Chelsea. He can also become the captain of this team."

Steven Bergwijn sends Max Verstappen message

Driver Max Verstappen went on to win the driver’s championship in a last-gasp final lap that saw him beat Lewis Hamilton to the title after the pair were tied for points going into the final race.
Spurs winger Steven Bergwijn was quick to take to Instagram to congratulate his fellow countryman, who could be seen holding up a Tottenham shirt with the winger’s name on the back.
