Tottenham have doubled down on their stance that Harry Kane is not for sale.
Kane dropped a bombshell before the start of Euro 2020 when he revealed he wanted to have a conversation with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy over his future, with a desire to win silverware his motivating factor for wanting to leave.
Naturally, Manchester City have been linked with his signature, especially after Kane said that he would most like to play with Kevin De Bruyne. City need a new striker to replace Sergio Aguero, and are targeting a big-name forward this summer.
It's been a turbulent summer at Tottenham, with Nuno Espirito Santo eventually chosen as the successor to Jose Mourinho after a series of high-profile rejections for their manager position. Levy has also added former Juventus director of football Fabio Paratici to do a similar role at Spurs, with his first task to find a manager.
His second, potentially more difficult challenge, will be to keep a hold of star man Kane, who is finding his scoring touch at Euro 2020. Speaking to Sky in Italy, Paratici explained why Kane is a key part of his plans at Spurs, with the club having no intention to sell.
He said: "Keeping him is not just my goal, it's our goal as a club.
"I can't wait to watch him play live, I've been really lucky in the past years because I've watched a lot of top players and strikers, like Cristiano Ronaldo, Carlos Tevez, Alvaro Morata, Gonzalo Higuain, and many more which now I forgot about.
"Right now, he's one of the best strikers in the world. He's a complete player, really special. His physique is that of a real number nine, a true poacher, but he also has an incredibly refined technique.
"He is able to shoot with both feet and also provides many assists - very few people notice this, because he scores so many goals.
"He's a team player, but he's a finisher at the same time, so really I believe he is among the top three in the world."
Paratici also confirmed that he nor Spurs have spoken to Kane while he is still away with England at Euro 2020, insisting that they will not distract the striker from his current goals of international glory with the Three Lions.
Paratici continued: "I haven't heard from him yet because I don't want to bother the players who are busy at the Euros, it doesn't seem fair to me. They're focused on their own goals with their national teams."
