Tottenham fans will love what Mauricio Pochettino did to Danny Rose on his birthday

Danny Rose's time at Tottenham finally came to an end this summer as he headed for the exit door after 14 years.

Signed from Leeds United in 2007, the left-back progressed to the first team after a number of loan spells before becoming a Spurs regular.

Excelling under Mauricio Pochettino as he became a key part of his exciting side, the player fell out of favour under Jose Mourinho and it was made clear that he had no future at the club.

With his contract in N17 officially coming to an end a few days ago, Rose has now signed a two-year deal with Watford following their return to the Premier League.

Already putting in the hard work at the club's training base ahead of their league opener against Aston Villa, Rose bumped into a familiar face at training on Friday as he celebrated his 31st birthday.

The familiar face was indeed his former Spurs boss Pochettino.

With Pochettino's son, Maurizio, a Watford player after joining the Hornets on a free transfer back in January, the Paris Saint-Germain boss has been keeping a close eye on the club in recent months.

At the training ground on Friday, Pochettino could be seen sharing an embrace with Rose and also having a quick chat with him after Watford uploaded photos of the duo to their Twitter account.

The Argentine could also be seen in conversation with Hornets boss Xisco Munoz on the training pitch in a separate photo.

The photos went down extremely well with Tottenham fans and many commented on social media about the pair reuniting after Pochettino's time at Spurs came to an end back in November 2019.

Looking to get his career back on track after not playing at all in 2020/21 after missing out on Tottenham's 25-man squad for Premier League and Europa League games, Rose could actually be back at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium very soon with the Hornets due to visit north London on Sunday, August 29.

The left-back may also be joined in the squad that day by Pochettino after the winger made his debut for the club as a late substitute in the Hornets' 2-0 defeat against Brentford at the start of May.

Both will no doubt receive a warm welcome if they are involved when Tottenham and Watford clash come the end of August.
