It is fair to say that Kevin Wimmer's Tottenham career flopped.
The centre-back was a £4.3million signing in the summer of 2015, but made just 15 Premier League appearances before making an £18million move to Stoke City.
Any hopes of being a Spurs first team regular were pretty much numbered less than two months after he joined, when Mauricio Pochettino signed Toby Alderweireld to partner Jan Vertonghen in the heart of the defence.
But he did get something from his spell in N17 - a friendship with Son Heung-min.
The duo were often pictured or videoed together on the club's official channels, striking up a good friendship having both arrived at the club from Germany in the same summer.
And their friendship remains strong to this day.
Wimmer, who now plays for Royal Excel Mouscron on loan from Stoke, was delighted to see his old friend notch a brace in the 5-0 demolition of Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
And while he was never a particularly popular player with the Tottenham fans during his time in north London, they will appreciate what he has said about Son and the Ballon d'Or.
On his official Instagram page, Son said: "That's what we needed. We all win together and move forward together. Thank you for your amazing support."
And in reply Wimmer said: "Ballon d'Or is coming."
Son was nominated for the Ballon d'Or this week, but is up against some stiff competition in the form of the usual suspects in Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, as well as Liverpool ace Virgil van Dijk.
