Tottenham fans will love the role Sergio Reguilon played in securing Bryan Gil transfer

Tottenham Hotspur signed Bryan Gil from Sevilla in the summer and the youngster looks as though he’ll become an integral part of Nuno Espirito Santo’s project in north London.

Signed in a player-plus-cash deal involving Erik Lamela, Gil hasn’t had too many opportunities to impress from the starting line-up thus far, but he’s always looked dangerous when he has played.

Aged just 20, there’s plenty of time for Gil to establish himself as a regular starting member of the Spurs squad alongside his fellow countryman, Sergio Reguilon, who according to the duo, played a major role in persuading the Spaniard to join Tottenham.

Speaking to Tottenhamhotspur.com, Gil revealed that Reguilon told him a lot of positive things about the club.

"He told me a lot of great things about being here. I asked him everything. What about this? What about that? He helped me so much because he knew the club inside out,” he said.

Reguilon replied by saying: "I told him the good and the bad things about London and the differences in the culture here."

"He told me about the weather and that there was a lot of traffic here,” Gil continued. “But he said that it was an amazing city and that the club was incredible."

And in great news for Tottenham fans, it seems as though he has settled well at the club, primarily because he prefers the English game to La Liga.

When asked whether he thinks football is different in England, Gil replied: "Yes, here it is end to end, you move the ball quicker and you have more possession. I think it’s more fun here!"

The duo will be hoping that their relationship off the pitch translates to good form on it, starting with a good performance against newly taken over Newcastle on Sunday.
