Tottenham fans send message to Mauricio Pochettino after PSG boss tests positive for Covid-19

Former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has tested positive for coronavirus and Spurs fans have been reaching out with their messages of support.

Pochettino is now at Paris Saint-Germain after taking up his first job since leaving Tottenham in 2019, following Thomas Tuchel's departure from the French capital last month.

The former Spurs boss has already won his first trophy, too, winning the Trophee des Champions with a win over Marseille during the week.

But Pochettino won't be in the stands for tomorrow's clash with Angers after testing positive for coronavirus, leaving Jesus Perez and Miguel D'Agostino to take over duties on the touchline.

The PSG statement read: "The coach of PSG Mauricio Pochettino is confirmed positive in the Sars-Cov2 PCR test.

"He will therefore respect isolation and is subject to the appropriate health protocol. His assistants Jesus Perez and Miguel D'Agostino will take over from tomorrow in Angers."

As well as the clash with Angers, Pochettino will miss the meeting with Montpellier next Friday due to the period of isolation required for those who test positive.

He is set to return in time for PSG's fixture with Lorient on the last day of the month, but in the meantime, Pochettino has received support from fans of his former club Spurs.

Here's what some fans have had to say on Twitter.

Pochettino was out of the job for more than a year after leaving Tottenham, seemingly taking a break before returning to a club close to his heart in PSG, having played for them for two years during his playing career.

The win against Marseille meant Pochettino won the first trophy of his management career, an important milestone for the Argentine, even if Tuchel did the hard work in getting PSG to the final.
