Tottenham fans saying the same thing as Amazon emerge as stadium naming rights contenders

It seems that Tottenham could have a new main sponsor for their stadium, with technology giant Amazon said to be one of the leading contenders for the naming rights of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Daily Mail report that Amazon have expressed a ‘substantial interest’ in a potential deal, with Spurs Chairman, Daniel Levy looking at securing a deal worth up to £25 million a season over a 10-year period. Such a deal would be the biggest in world football.

Amazon already have links with Tottenham, with the two parties in partnership in filming the behind-the-scenes documentary All or Nothing, which has been filmed over the course of this season.

The report claims that there is other companies interested in striking a deal, with Nike said to be one also on the radar.

However, Amazon’s financial power is likely to make them favourites to complete a deal.

It emerged on Wednesday that the tech company reached a total value of £1.1 trillion.

Given their finances, reacting to the news of the potential deal with the company, seemed keen on the partnership to go one step further.

Some have taken to social media to give their thoughts on Amazon’s reported interest in becoming the stadium sponsors.

Tottenham meanwhile have gone back on their decision to furlough some not playing staff amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The club have also announced that all staff will now be getting paid their full wage, with the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium also being used as a drive-through test facility.

The basement carpark is being used to help the effort against the virus after opening its doors to test NHS staff, and their families.
