Tottenham fans say the same thing after Kieran Trippier wins La Liga title with Atletico Madrid

Tottenham Hotspur supporters have been left frustrated as yet another one of their former stars secured a title on Saturday evening.

Kieran Trippier - who was at Spurs from 2015 until 2019 before signing for Atletico Madrid - was part of the Atletico Madrid team that secured the La Liga title.

It went down to the final game of the season in the Spanish top-flight, with the two Madrid clubs: Atletico and Real, both having the chance to win it.

It was Atletico's time, though, despite going 1-0 down against Valladolid when Oscar Plano scored on 18 minutes.

Angel Correa equalised for the visitors, though, before former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez secured the title for Atleti with a goal on 67 minutes.

It's Trippier's first title with the Madrid outfit in just his second season at the Wanda Metropolitano and it has left Spurs supporters with a bitter taste in their mouth.

These tweets come just days after Harry Kane's interview with Gary Neville, where the Spurs talisman opened up on why he could leave the club this summer.

football.london understands that Kane has not told Spurs directly that he wants to depart at the end of the season, but he is becoming increasingly frustrated by the lack of major honours - or even competing for them - during his time in north London.

As well as Trippier's success, former Tottenham stars Kyle Walker and Christian Eriksen have also recently achieved triumphs in England and Inter Milan, respectively.

Walker has been a crucial part of Manchester City's side in their dominant display in the Premier League this term.

Similarly, Eriksen - who left Tottenham in January 2020 for around £17million - has played a somewhat bit-part role in Inter's Serie A-winning campaign.
