Jose Mourinho's team selection for this evening's Premier League fixture against Manchester City has got a number of Tottenham Hotspur fans talking.
Spurs go into the game on the back of a last-gasp 1-0 win over West Bromwich Albion before the international break, as they moved to the top of the table, albeit temporarily.
However, the Lilywhites' title credentials will be tested at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium when Mourinho renews his over decade-long rivalry with City boss Pep Guardiola.
Recent history does favour the north London outfit.
They picked up four points in the two meetings last season - including a smash-and-grab 2-0 win in the corresponding fixture thanks to goals from Steven Bergwijn and Son Heung-min.
And in an attempt to extend his side's unbeaten run against City to three games, Mourinho has made two changes to the side that started at the Hawthorns a fortnight ago.
One of which is enforced as Serge Aurier replaces Matt Doherty at right-back after the summer signing from Wolves tested positive for Covid-19 whilst on international duty with the Republic of Ireland.
The other sees Bergwijn replace Gareth Bale to partner Harry Kane and Son in attack for the Dutchman's second Premier League start of the season.
Tottenham XI: Lloris; Aurier, Alderweireld, Dier, Reguilon; Hojbjerg, Sissoko, Ndombele; Bergwijn, Son, Kane.
Most of the reaction from Tottenham supporters on social media has centred around the inclusion of Bergwijn over Bale in the starting XI.
