Tottenham fans offer mixed reactions as Newcastle confirm the signing of Danny Rose

Tottenham Hotspur fans have offered mixed reactions after Danny Rose joined Newcastle on loan until the end of the season.

The Magpies were in need of a new left-wing-back following season ending injuries to both Jetro Willems and Paul Dummett and they have managed to secure the signature of the England international.

The 29-year-old was arguably the best left-back in the Premier League not too long ago but after falling out of favour with Spurs manager Jose Mourinho he was keen to find first team football elsewhere.

Rose's desire is to keep his place in the England squad ahead of EURO 2020 this summer and speaking about his move to Newcastle, he said: “For me, it’s really exciting that I can come here and have the chance to play in front of the Newcastle fans."

It brings to an end Rose's 12-and-a-half year stay at Spurs having joined the club from Leeds United in 2007 as a teenager.

Rose was part of the Spurs squad that reached the Champions League final and the club established themselves as regulars in European football during his time in North London.

There has been talk of discontent in recent years, though, with Rose keen to return back up north.

As a result, Spurs fans' reaction to his exit has been mixed. You can see how Spurs fans reacted in the video at the top of the article.
