Tottenham fans noticed what happened when Juan Foyth started for Argentina against Brazil

The international break is proving to be a blessing in disguise for Tottenham and Mauricio Pochettino.

Having gone into it without a win in the Premier League since beating Southampton at home in September, it's a chance for the players to get away and gain some confidence.

That's proving to be the case.

Youngster Troy Parrott sent a message to Pochettino by registering an assist on his senior debut for the Republic of Ireland, whilst on the same night Harry Kane netted a first-half hat-trick as England cruised to victory over Montenegro at Wembley Stadium.

Furthermore, Tanguy Ndombele shook of an injury scare to take his place on the bench for France's 2-1 win over Moldova.

And the good news continued on Friday evening when Argentina beat Brazil in a friendly.

Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi netted the only goal of the game after 13 minutes, but what will please Spurs fans as well as Pochettino is the fact that Juan Foyth started and played the full game.

In addition, Foyth was part of an Argentina defence which managed to keep a clean sheet up against an attack which included Liverpool's Roberto Firmino, Man City's Gabriel Jesus and Chelsea winger Willian.

With that said, the clean sheet was rather fortunate as Jesus missed from the penalty spot shortly before Messi scored and as spotted by fans on Reddit, Foyth was partially at fault as his attempts to play out from the back was unsuccessful.

This is the third time Foyth has completed 90 minutes for club or country this season.

Could this latest run out earn him a start against West Ham United when Spurs return to Premier League action?

Giovani Lo Celso was also in action at the King Saud University Stadium.

He got 59 minutes under his belt and there doesn't seem to have been a repeat of what happened the last time he was on international duty with Argentina as he suffered an injury which kept him out of action for a number of weeks.
