Jose Mourinho paid Ole Gunnar Solskjaer back after Tottenham Hotspur's thumping 6-1 thrashing of Manchester United.
Spurs tore their hosts to shreds, coming from behind after conceding an early penalty.
Mourinho and his Red Devils counterpart had exchanged various digs with each other in the build-up to the game, but it was the Spurs boss that had the last laugh.
He also got his payback on Solskjaer after an infamous moment when the two teams met for the first time last season.
In what was Mourinho's first return to Old Trafford after leaving Manchester United two seasons ago, the Red Devils ran out 2-1 winners in December 2019.
It prompted Solskjaer to offer Mourinho a consolatory head pad post-match in an incident that set tongues wagging due to how patronising it appeared.
Yet Mourinho took his revenge at full-time of the Old Trafford thrashing on Sunday, giving Solskjaer a head pat of his own.
Speaking post-match, Mourinho did not play down the significance of the victory.
He told Match of the Day: “It is history for Tottenham, history for my boys and I cannot deny it is also history for me.
"I won many times in this stadium, mostly with Manchester United but also with Chelsea, Real Madrid and now Tottenham.
“It is a victory of the squad, not just the team but the squad. It is a victory of the confidence, the team is so confident.
"To concede in the first minute we could have been destroyed. I feel very happy, it is an honour for us to have this unique record in this stadium."
