Tottenham fans name dream transfer deadline day signings as Jose Mourinho tipped to be sacked

Transfer deadline day is officially upon us and clubs right across England are working hard to try and get those last-minute deals over the line ahead of the 11pm deadline.

Although, on the whole, business has been fairly quiet in the Premier League this month, several clubs are working hard to try and strengthen their squads ahead of the remainder of the campaign.

However, Tottenham Hotspur, unless anything changes, are unlikely to be one of them, with head coach Jose Mourinho, who watched his side suffer a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday evening, admitting that he is not expecting to be busy today.

Tottenham Hotspur Transfer Deadline Day agenda

Mourinho, speaking to the media after last night's defeat to the Seagulls at the AMEX Stadium, said: "I don’t expect, no. Of course today was a day where I am disconnected from my bosses, I am disconnected from the club contacts, I am just focused on the game.

"But I don’t think so. I was not expecting anything to happen."

Although no new arrivals are poised to arrive at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium today, it has not stopped Spurs' supporters of dreaming of one or two additions, with some of them urging the club and chairman Daniel Levy to end the window with a bang and make some last-minute additions.

To get a clear idea of what kind of last-minute transfers Spurs' supporters would like to see the club conclude, football.london gave the fans the opportunity to get in touch and pitch their suggestions for who they would like to see arrive in north London ahead of this evening's deadline.

On Twitter, we asked supporters to get in touch with their suggestions and they certainly didn't fail to disappoint. Below, we have have put together a snapshot of which players some Spurs fans would like to see arrive before the deadline...

As you will be able to see from the responses above, a fair few Spurs fans are calling for a change in manager, opposed to any new players coming in.

Following last night's defeat to Brighton, emotions are running high, with the club having lost its last two Premier League outings.

However, some fans have put forward their suggestions for who they would like the club to try and bring in before the deadline, with Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope, Marcel Sabitzer of RB Leipzig, Southampton striker Danny Ings and even Diego Costa amongst their choices.

Whilst Pope, Sabitzer and Ings would command big transfer fees, Costa is currently available on a free transfer after leaving Atletico Madrid back in December.

Spurs are currently a man light in attack with Harry Kane sidelined through injury, meaning a move for Costa would have a degree of sense to it, taking into account that Spurs often struggle to score when the England captain is sidelined.
