Tottenham fans have a theory over Philippe Coutinho loan move amidst Arsenal interest

The future of Philippe Coutinho looks set to be one of the key talking points in the last days of the summer transfer window.

The Barcelona star is available for a move after falling out of favour at the Nou Camp, with a one-year loan deal and an option to buy on the cards.

Several clubs have expressed an interest in the Brazilian international with Arsenal thought to be one of the leading contenders for his signature.

It's thought that the Gunners have been approached by the Spanish giants regarding a deal, however with a move for a defender seen as a priority, it appears that Arsenal's focus may be else where.

That's where things get interesting.

Tottenham Hotspur are also thought to be interested in the playmaker and are said to have made a move.

An approach for Coutinho has come as something of a surprise for the supporters who looked to be preparing themselves for the arrival of either Giovani Lo Celso or Bruno Fernandes.

However with Coutinho now available it seems like he may be Tottenham's number one target.

Fans have been speculating about the move after the midfielder travelled with his Barcelona teammates to Miami, with some eagle-eyed supporters potentially joining up the dots on a deal.

Mauricio Pochettino was asked about transfers following Sunday's pre-season friendly with Inter Milan.

Asked if he's been able to speak to Levy about transfers, Pochettino replied: "No, he's in Miami and I didn’t have the opportunity to talk to him."

Has Daniel Levy's trip to Miami been recreational, or has he been plotting a secret meet-up with the Barcelona star in a bid to convince him to move to the white half of north London?

It's likely that we'll get our answer before Thursday's transfer deadline.
