Tottenham fans have a theory over Dele Alli's new haircut as midfielder debuts new look

Dele Alli has kicked off what could be a new chapter with a very new look.

It's been a long and difficult campaign for Alli, who has struggled for games at Tottenham this season having had a far from straightforward relationship with former boss Jose Mourinho.

After an interesting exchange shown on the Amazon Prime documentary where Alli was accused of being 'lazy' by Mourinho, the two never quite seemed to be on the same page.

The England international struggled for game time throughout this season, but there is fresh hope for him after Mourinho was sacked last week, just days before the Carabao Cup final with Manchester City.

Former midfielder Ryan Mason has since taken the job until the end of the season and Alli has made one substitute appearance from two games since.

But with a new manager set to arrive ahead of next season, there is fresh hope for Alli that he can return to his level of previous years when he became an undroppable.

And to begin the new chapter of sorts, Alli has had a new haircut, going for a very new look with dreadlocks.

Spurs fans have been reacting to that haircut, suggesting it could be a case of 'Dele 2.0', hoping they are going to see the Alli of old with increased game time.

Here's what fans have had to say on Reddit.

Billypilgrim87 - "Ruud Dele."

SnowAndAlcohol - "Next evolution delboy incoming."

Estospur - "Dele 2.0 coming up."

Aadawads - "I would be so happy if he recovered the form from his early days."

DanielOgu - "New hair Dele>>>>>"

Skoo - "Perfect for the redemption arc."

Alli has made 24 appearances for Tottenham across all competitions this season, but just 10 of those have come in the Premier League and only two of those 10 appearances were starts.

The 25-year-old is under contract until 2025, suggesting he is going nowhere, but he is going to have to try a new approach to get more game time, and who knows, the new haircut might help.

Spurs are next in action against already-relegated Sheffield United this weekend, with the Blades visiting the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.
