Tottenham fans go wild as Antonio Conte breaks silence amid manager links

Antonio Conte has posted a message on social media after reports claiming he is in talks with Tottenham over replacing Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho was sacked by the north London club back in mid-April, with Ryan Mason taking interim charge of the side up until the end of the 2020/21 season.

Spurs have since been linked with a host of names, including Mauricio Pochettino, Brendan Rodgers, Graham Potter and most recently, Conte.

The former Chelsea manager already has a Premier League title on his CV, after guiding the Blues to glory in the 2016/17 season.

The 51-year-old coach has since become available after leaving Inter Milan recently.

Conte reportedly fell out with the Inter hierarchy, who were keen on selling some star players just weeks after the Milan outfit lifted the Serie A title.

Now, the Italian boss has posted a message on social media on the same day as Spurs have been heavily linked with a move for his services.

Taking to Instagram, Conte posted a photo of himself posed next to the ocean, with the caption: "It's a nice day", leading to messages from Spurs fans in response.

As can be seen above, Spurs fans, rather inevitably, have been reacting to Conte's post in the comments, with some calling for him to join the north London club.

Sky Sports are reporting that Spurs have entered talks with Conte, but there 'remains some distance' between the two parties over his salary demands if he were to be appointed.

Pochettino has also been heavily linked with the job at Spurs, and football.london understands the Argentine head coach informed Paris Saint-Germain of his desire to leave the club towards the latter stages of last week.

Pochettino has only been in charge in Paris for less than six months, but has been linked with a sensational return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

However, it is understood that PSG are holding firm in their stance over the manager, leading to Conte to become the new frontrunner for the job.
