Excitement is building amongst Tottenham Hotspur supporters.
Today [September 18] is the day Gareth Bale's return to the club is expected to be confirmed, and fans simply can't wait for the announcement.
After years of rumours regarding a return to north London for the Wales international, it's finally about to happen - although head coach Jose Mourinho has refused to give much away.
"I cannot comment, I don't comment on something that I don't know," Mourinho said in his post-Lokomotiv Plovdiv press conference.
"For me, at this moment, until I'm told Gareth Bale is a Tottenham player, I still think and feel and respect the fact that he's a Real Madrid player, so I'm not going to comment on a Real Madrid player."
With that said, Bale should once again be a Tottenham player very soon.
football.london understands that the club hope to announce Bale's return as well as a permanent transfer for his Real Madrid teammate Sergio Reguilon before the end of the day.
And fans have flocked to Hotspur Way to get a sighting of the duo.
As captured by @thespursweb on Twitter, fans had a warm welcome for Bale as he drove through the club's training ground.
In more good news for Tottenham fans, football.london understands there is an option to extend Bale's loan deal at the end of the season.
Under the terms of the current deal, Tottenham will be paying roughly 40 per cent of the player's wages with Real picking up the remaining 60 per cent.
Tottenham will also have an option to make Bale's season-long stay in north London a longer one with a second season if the move proves to be the success for all parties that they hope it will.
