Tottenham fans agree on first-half showing vs Arsenal as Gary Neville pinpoints harsh reality

Tottenham supporters are furious with what they saw from their side in the first-half of the North London Derby against Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

Spurs, who came into the match off the back of back-to-back defeats against Crystal Palace and Chelsea, found themselves behind after Emile Smith Rowe opened the scoring on 12 minutes at the Emirates Stadium.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang doubled the Gunners' tally quarter of an hour later with a fine left-footed finish before Bukayo Saka made it three before the half-time whistle.

It was a nightmare opening period for Nuno Espirito Santo in his first experience of a North London Derby, and some supporters think the Tottenham boss got his tactics horribly wrong.

Spurs barely had a sniff in the first 45 minutes, bar a Harry Kane header that went just wide, and some supporters were seen leaving their seats before half-time. Of course, this could have been to beat the half-time rush to go and buy some food or a drink.

Gary Neville believes Tottenham supporters have every right to be dejected with what they saw in the first-half.

"They’ve got a right to be dejected [the fans] you can get beat 3-0, you can be losing a game 3-0 but the approach from minute one has been appalling, it really has," Neville said on Sky Sports during the clash.

"They have not had the courage to play then out of possession they are just ambling across the pitch horizontally, none of them are trying to get near the ball.

"[It has] been a really poor 30 minutes and I thought they played well in the first half against Chelsea last week, I thought they were really good."

Nuno will have to make numerous changes to his Tottenham side if the visitors are to find a route back into the match.
