Pre-season is officially underway for Tottenham as they step up their preparations ahead of the new Premier League season.
Spurs were back in action on Saturday as they hosted Ipswich Town at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in their first pre-season friendly.
Jose Mourinho’s men came out as comfortable 3-0 winners, thanks to first-half goals from Ryan Sessegnon, and a Son Heung-min brace.
Sessegnon was one just three Tottenham players to play the full 90 minutes of the match and showed that he is ready to fight for a place in the starting lineup after a difficult first season at the club.
Injuries and form meant that the left-sided player had to settle with making just nine appearances in the Premier League during 2019/20.
However, an impressive pre-season could see the 20-year old kick start his Tottenham career.
Alongside his goal against Ipswich, Tottenham fans noticed a slight change in the player while watching the game too, with Sessegnon appearing to have bulked up since the end of last season.
Celtic are said to be interested in taking the player on loan in the upcoming season, but Spurs are reported to have rejected the approach with the thought of making the player a key part of their squad for the campaign.
Sessegnon will be hoping to continue his good form throughout pre-season, and take it into the first game of the campaign when Tottenham take on Everton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Before that Spurs have pre-season matches against Reading, Birmingham City and Watford lined up.
