Clinton Morrison says Arsenal will have "a hell of a forward line" if the Gunners complete a deal to sign Philippe Coutinho before the transfer deadline.
The former Liverpool star has been strongly linked with a return to the Premier League, with the Brazilian finding his opportunities limited at Barcelona.
Arsenal and Tottenham have both been linked with Coutinho, who has fallen down the pecking order at the Nou Camp less than 18 months after joining the Catalan giants from Liverpool.
It is understood that he is willing to stay in Spain and fight for his place, but speculation over his future continues, with a little more than 24 hours left in the summer transfer window.
And former Premier League striker Clinton Morrison, who is a Spurs fan, has been speaking about Coutinho amid competition from the Lilywhites' north London rivals Arsenal.
“If he goes to Arsenal I would be devastated, because then Arsenal would be starting to look like a real team, with that forward line," the former Crystal Palace striker said, speaking on Talksport.
Arsenal have already signed Ivory Coast international Nicolas Pepe in a club record transfer, with the 24-year-old winger joining from Lille in a deal worth around £72million.
His arrival adds to Arsenal's attacking options, and creates the prospect of a forward trio of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Pepe.
But Morrison says that Coutinho would strengthen Unai Emery's options further, adding that the Gunners would have an attack that other clubs would envy.
“If it happens, fair play to Arsenal because they will have done some serious business, with that front line, it would be a hell of a forward line,” he said.
