Tottenham fan calls for Jose Mourinho sacking in angry rant after Man Utd defeat

One Tottenham fan has launched an astonishing rant at Jose Mourinho after his side's defeat to Manchester United.

The Portuguese boss won his first three games as manager of the north London outfit.

But Spurs were never in control as United ran out 2-1 winners in Mourinho's first return to Old Trafford since his sacking 12 months ago.

Tottenham fans were divided when it was announced the former Chelsea and Red Devils chief would be replacing fan-favourite Mauricio Pochettino last month.

And one supporter vented his fury about Mourinho following Wednesday evening's defeat, insisting Eddie Howe would have been a better managerial choice.

“I want Jose Mourinho out of my club,” the disgruntled Tottenham fan told talkSPORT.

“I called up a couple of weeks ago when we gave him the job, he’s useless, I don’t want him near my club, he sucks all the life out of it.

“He’s not the right manager for Tottenham. It’s a marriage of convenience.

"Levy is positioning the club to sell it to the Yanks, so they’ve put a high profile manager in there just to fit the bill for the time being.

“He doesn’t buy into want Tottenham is, we aren’t about what Jose Mourinho is. He should never have been appointed in the first place and I reckon he’ll be gone within 12 months.

“You look at Mourinho’s track record and it is superb, even at Manchester United he had success, but I guarantee you this will be the one job he takes where he doesn’t win a trophy.

“This appointment is the worst since Juande Ramos. I would have taken Eddie Howe over Mourinho absolutely, in a heartbeat.”

It was an unhappy return to Manchester for Mourinho.

But the 56-year-old admitted his Tottenham side had themselves to blame for the defeat.

“We knew what we had to do, but after one minute of the second-half, we conceded a goal," he said at full-time.

“United will be happy with the points and overall they deserve it.

“We only have ourselves to blame.”
