Tottenham Hotspur are waiting on updates surrounding Gareth Bale after a picture emerged of the Wales star wearing a large ice pack on his ankle.
Bale started for Spurs on Sunday afternoon as they beat West Bromwich Albion 1-0 in the Premier League but left the field in the 78th minute.
Harry Kane was the star of the show as his last-gasp goal handed Jose Mourinho's side all three points. But the jubilation will have turned to despair since full-time as Tottenham assess the full extent of Bale's injury problem.
The 31-year-old was pictured wearing an ice pack on the outside of his left ankle, sitting in the stands at the Hawthorns as Tottenham's medical team assessed the damage.
It is not clear at this stage the extent of the injury with Bale replaced by Lucas Moura.
Bale is due to join up his Wales teammates this week for games against the USA, the Republic of Ireland and Finland. But the chances of him being involved in those matches, with the latter two in the Nations League, could come under some doubt should his injury prove to stand in the way.
It's worth noting from Bale's perspective that he's been known to join up with Wales even when not 100 per cent fit so any withdrawal from the national team squad could indicate a significant problem.
He sustained a knee injury while away with Wales in early September which then delayed his second debut after he signed on a season-long loan from Real Madrid.
Tottenham host Manchester City in north London when the Premier League resumes on November 21.
