Tottenham face transfer battle with Manchester United and Everton for Serge Aurier replacement

Tottenham Hotspur are in the hunt for a right-back as they aim to line up a replacement should Serge Aurier leave the club this summer.

Aurier is expected to depart the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the coming weeks, with a return to Paris Saint-Germain the most likely destination for the 28-year-old Ivory Coast international.

Despite remaining managerless, Spurs have already earmarked a number of potential replacements for Aurier, including Brighton and Hove Albion's Tariq Lampety.

However, the £50million price tag Brighton have placed on Lampety has seen Spurs cast their eye to Norwich City star Max Aarons, according to Sky Sports News.

Spurs are not the only Premier League club reported to be interested in Aarons, though, with Manchester United and Everton also keen on a move for the 21-year-old.

Tottenham are keen to begin their summer transfer business despite the lack of a manager with new director of football Fabio Paratici placed in charge of recruitment as well as the hunt for a new head coach.

Aarons was a key member of Norwich City's Championship-winning team during the 2020/21 season and has already experienced top-tier football with the Canaries.

The England U21 player was nominated for the EFL Young Player of the Year for this season and Norwich are believed to be looking for a fee in the region of £30million for the defender.

Spurs are understood to have previously enquired about Aarons's availability but a deal will not be easy to complete.

Not only are Manchester United and Everton keen on the defender but Norwich City are desperate to tie the full-back down to a new three year deal before the start of the new Premier League campaign.
