Tottenham exile Danny Rose's transfer stance amid Sheffield Utd and Turkey interest

Danny Rose will not quit Tottenham before the transfer window closes on Monday - even though he knows he has probably played his last game for Spurs.

Rose has been exiled to the wilderness by Jose Mourinho and he has not played for Tottenham in just over a year.

The former England defender is not part of Mourinho’s first-team plans and has been restricted to a couple of Under-23 games this season.

Rose, 30, knows his prospects are highly unlikely to improve, but will not leave Spurs during this window, despite interest from Sheffield United and Trabzonspor.

The full-back is prepared to see out the remaining five months of his £60,000-a-week deal with Spurs before leaving on a Bosman in the summer.

The former Leeds trainee believes he can find another Premier League club to revive his top-flight career.

Rose’s exile is a sad end to his time at Tottenham and he has clocked up 14 years since joining from Leeds for £100,000 as a 17-year-old.

He had a spectacular bust-up with Mourinho last January, captured by Amazon’s All or Nothing series, when he branded his treatment of him as unfair.

That signalled the end for him and he spent the second half of the campaign on loan at Newcastle, making his last Premier League appearance against Liverpool in July on the final day of the season.
