Tottenham have confirmed that Ryan Sessegnon has joined Hoffenheim on a season-long loan deal.

The former Fulham wide player has been linked with a temporary departure for some time, with increased competition for places at Spurs following the signing of Sergio Regulion and Gareth Bale.

It is believed that Jose Mourinho and Spurs are keen for Sessegnon to play at left-back or left wing-back, with the club believing the youngster’s future is in defence.
