Tottenham evening headlines as wonderkid signs contract and Mourinho plans Hojbjerg swap deal

Here are the latest headlines for Tottenham on Monday, May 25.

Juan Foyth encouraged to make Leeds United transfer decision

Kevin Phillips believes Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Juan Foyth should join Leeds United if they are promoted.

Foyth joined the club for a fee of £8million in 2017 and is still highly-rated by those behind the scenes at Tottenham. Unfortunately, the 22-year-old has seen limited action this season, with just seven appearances in all competitions.

That has seen speculation regarding his future in north London, with Phillips believing a move to Elland Road would be a smart next step.

"I like Foyth. He has shown that he can play in the Premier League, it does not faze him," Phillips told Football Insider.

"If Ben White moves on then you are at least replacing him with Premier League experience… I could definitely see that one happening."

Spurs may offer defender in part-exchange for midfield target

Tottenham would consider offering Kyle Walker-Peters in a part-exchange deal for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, according to Football Insider.

Walker-Peters joined Southampton on loan in January after falling down the pecking order at Spurs, and now he could be used as part of a deal that would see Hojbjerg move to North London.

The report claims that Hojbjerg is their top target and with Spurs operating on a reduced transfer kitty in the wake of English football’s ongoing shutdown, Walker-Peters could be used as part of a deal to sign Hojbjerg.

The defender’s future at Tottenham is unclear after he criticised Jose Mourinho for a lack of opportunities while praising his predecessor Mauricio Pochettino.

Tottenham starlet inks first professional contract

Aaron Skinner has celebrated his 18th birthday by signing his first professional contract with the club.

Skinner celebrated his 18th birthday on Sunday and took to Instagram to reveal he had agreed a deal seven months after first joining the club on trial from Bury.

“Buzzing to be able to celebrate my birthday agreeing my first professional contract,” he wrote in a post confirming the deal.

Although the specifics have not been revealed, it's reported that the promising defender’s contract will keep him at the club until 2023.
