Tottenham evening headlines as Timothy Castange transfer boost emerges, Joe Hart to seal move

Here are your Tottenham Hotspur evening headlines for Monday, August 17.

Skipp loan ‘best for both parties’

Spurs midfielder Oliver Skipp is off to Norwich on loan this season as the 19-year-old seeks to gain regular first-team experience.

And football.london's Spurs' correspondent - Alasdair Gold - believes the move will benefit both parties, citing Daniel Farke’s ability to nurture young players.

“Oliver Skipp going to Norwich on loan is a good move for all parties,” he tweeted.

“The two clubs have a good relationship and Daniel Farke is excellent with young players. It's what Skipp wants, he'll work hard and it could be a big season of development for 'Spurs' future captain'.”

Spurs close in on Hart signing

Tottenham are closing in on a deal for England international and former Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart as the club looks to meet its requirement for home grown stars.

Michael Vorm left the club last season, leaving Spurs without a recognised third option between the sticks.

Hart, who has recently been working as a television pundit, looks the perfect choice, providing experience while also ticking the homegrown box.

Spurs handed Castagne boost

Tottenham have received a big boost as they chase Atalanta’s Timothy Castagne.

The right-back impressed as the Serie A side worked their way through to the Champions League quarter-finals, narrowly missing out on the final four following a late defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

Now the £18million-rated defender looks set for a move with Atalanta lining up a replacement in Standard Liege full-back Mergim Vojvoda, who has confirmed he is on the verge of moving to the Serie A side in a £5million deal.

“Atalanta representatives have come to Belgium two or three times to see me,” Vojvoda told Gazeta Ole, per Football Italia. “I agreed terms with them and I now expect the two clubs to work out the details together. We’ll know after their meeting on Monday.

"There are another three clubs interested in me too, but so far Atalanta are definitely the best prospect.”
