Tottenham evening headlines as Tanguy Ndombele transfer decision made, Gabriel Magalhaes bid

Here are the latest Tottenham Hotspur headlines for Saturday June 27.

Tanguy Ndombele transfer latest and Tottenham’s long-term belief in the Frenchman

Tottenham Hotspur have no desire to sell Tanguy Ndombele this summer.

Ndombele, 23, was a summer signing from Lyon and has suffered a difficult time since relocating to North London. The midfielder was once again under the spotlight this week after reports of a rift with Jose Mourinho emerged.

The situation was seen to escalate when reports in France suggested Ndombele wished to leave the club and had no desire to work under Mourinho.

The Portuguese addressed claims of a fall-out with Ndombele, pouring cold water on the rumours.

Spurs to listen to offers for rising star

Tottenham are ready to sell Kazaiah Sterling this summer after a series of failed loan moves, according to Football Insider.

Sterling, 21, has one-year left on his current Spurs deal but the club are ready to cash in after poor spells at Sunderland, Doncaster and most recently Leyton Orient.

The striker has represented England at youth level but has found club success hard to come by. He was sent out to nearby Leyton Orient in January, but he failed to make the matchday squad for any of their six league matches following his late January arrival.

He did manage one goal while on loan at the Stadium of Light, but it has not been enough to convince Tottenham he has a future with the club.

Tottenham ‘launch bid’ for Ligue 1 defender

Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes is a priority target for Jose Mourinho as he looks to pip rivals Arsenal to the player’s signature.

Gabriel, 22, has been in fine form for Lille this season and has attracted interest from several top European clubs including Napoli, Roma and Everton.

Now, Fichajes.net believes Tottenham have entered the race to sign him with a £27million bid submitted.

The Brazilian defender joined Lille from Avai in his homeland in 2017 and made 24 appearances for the club this season before the season ended early due to the coronavirus.

Mourinho needs defensive reinforcements in the wake of Jan Vertonghen’s apparently imminent departure, and the chance to beat Arsenal to his signature is just one more advantage.
