Tottenham evening headlines as stadium is opened for NHS testing and Kane transfer prediction

Here are your Tottenham Hotspur evening headlines for Wednesday, April 15.

Harry Kane exit predicted

Harry Kane will ‘probably’ leave Spurs next summer if the club fail to land a major trophy, according to Tony Cottee.

Kane, who previously refused to rule out a move away from Tottenham, has been linked with a big money move to Manchester United in recent weeks.

Speaking to Sky Sports, former West Ham and Everton forward Cottee thinks the player’s ambition could see his head turn.

“You want that feeling of winning the Premier League or Champions League and at the moment I can't see him doing that at Spurs.

"I think it's inevitable, if it doesn't happen in the next year or so, I think Harry will leave - probably next summer."

Mourinho eyes more creativity

Keeping Kane might not simply be dependent on trophies, but also on Spurs’ ambition in the transfer market.

The stadium move has impacted Tottenham’s spending power in recent years, with the club famously not making a single signing in the summer of 2018.

However, Jose Mourinho will be expecting the pursestrings to be loosened in the coming months as he looks to rebuild the team and get them challenging for top honours once more.

The loss of Christain Eriksen, as well as injuries to Kane and Son Heung-min has laid bare the lack of creativity in the rest of the team, and it’s an area Mourinho will surely look to address.

Spurs open stadium for NHS testing

Tottenham have opened the doors of their new stadium as a base for NHS testing during the coronavirus crisis.

The state-of-the-art £1 billion arena which opened last year is the first Premier League ground to be used for testing, with around 70 tests per day expected to be accommodated.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy said: “We are proud to be handing over our stadium to our wonderful NHS as we fight COVID-19 together.

“We reached out to the NHS and the Mayor of London’s Office when the pandemic first started to explore ways in which our stadium’s facilities could be of use, so we are pleased to see this now becoming a reality.
