Tottenham evening headlines as Spurs launch Aurier investigation and fresh Fraser transfer twist

Here are the Tottenham Hotspur evening headlines on Wednesday, May 20.

Palace join Spurs in Fraser race

Tottenham’s London rivals Crystal Palace are ready to join the race to sign Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser in the summer.

Fraser sees his contract at the Vitality Stadium expire once the season ends, and the Express are reporting Roy Hodgson is desperate to bring the Scottish winger to Selhurst Park.

However, the same report suggests the 26-year-old sees Tottenham as his preferred destination.

Tottenham behind the scenes

With Spurs still pushing for European football next season, this could be the deciding factor for Fraser.

Spurs confirm behind closed doors finish

Tottenham have confirmed the 2019/20 season will be finished behind closed doors and have issued an update for season ticket holders.

However, the Premier League are yet to announce when or how football will return, with the German Bundesliga returning last weekend.

“Given that, unfortunately but understandably, supporters will not be able to attend any remaining matches for the 2019/20 Premier League season, we should like to provide an update in respect of our five remaining home matches, any credits held on ticketing accounts and renewals for the 2020/21 season,” a club statement read.

Tottenham to investigate Aurier

Tottenham will “investigate the circumstances” after social media posts from Serge Aurier on Tuesday evening appeared to show him breaking lockdown once more.

The Spurs right-back, who has already broken the lockdown rules twice, showed off his new haircut on Instagram.

Spurs confirmed they will investigate the matter further, telling football.london: “We are investigating the circumstances and will deal with the incident appropriately.”

Meanwhile, Aurier denied any wrongdoing, claiming that both he and his hairdresser had been given clean bills of health before his haircut.

“My hairdresser is negative and me too, so stop talking in a vacuum,” he wrote on his Instagram story.

“And put on masks and gloves when you come to take pictures at the training centre. It's part of the rules too.”
