Tottenham evening headlines as Liverpool wonderkid is targeted for loan deal, Parrott admission

Here are your Tottenham Hotspur evening headlines for Wednesday August 26.

Tottenham interested in Brewster loan

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster on loan.

The forward has scored three times during pre-season so far, and impressed during his loan spell at Swansea in 2019/20.

However, Darren Bent has warned that a move to Spurs might not get Brewster the game time he needs.

"I do like what Mourinho’s doing," Bent told Football Insider, "but I’m just a bit nervous about him not getting enough game time. Someone like [Harry] Kane, we’ve seen he has a lot of injuries but at the same time we can’t say that’s going to be the case.

“I would prefer someone like Callum Wilson because I don’t like seeing youngsters go to a club and not get enough game time.

“You look at Ryan Sessegnon. I had really big aspirations for him, I thought he’d do well and he’s hardly kicked a ball down there."

Spurs linked with Real Betis star

Tottenham have been linked with a move for Real Betis striker Loren Moron.

The club have received an offer of €12million from a Premier League team - with Sheffield United and West Ham also thought to be interested in signing him.

Reports in Spain suggest that he will be allowed to leave for well under his €50m release clause.

Parrott's plans for 2020/21 at Millwall

Troy Parrott scored for Millwall as they beat National League side Bromley 5-1 in a pre-season friendly.

He will spend 2020/21 on loan in South London - and says he does not mind where he plays on the park.

“I don’t have a favourite position, I’ll play wherever gets me in the team,” he said after the game .

“Obviously I’m a striker, I’ve grown up as a striker. I like playing off the left and behind the striker as well. Either of those three positions I don’t mind.

“It’s been great so far, I feel so welcome. I’ve settled in really well and really fast.”
