Tottenham evening headlines as Jose Mourinho rant revealed and striker hunt continues

Here are the Spurs evening headlines for Saturday July 18.

Leaked Amazon documentary clip reveals explicit Mourinho rant at Spurs players

A clip of an impassioned Jose Mourihno talking to his Tottenham players has emerged on social media.

It is part of an upcoming documentary following the club on Amazon Prime, which was originally expected to air in late July but may now be delayed to accommodate the remainder of this prolonged season.

Like previous documentaries on the streaming platform - most notably one covering Manchester City - cameras have been placed in meeting rooms and the stadium dressing room.

That has resulted in the capture of a particularly aggressive Mourinho speech, in which he urges his players, in a particularly sweary way, not to be “stupid” .

“Maybe I'm wrong, I feel that you are honestly a very nice group of guys,” he says.

“But for 90 minutes, you cannot be nice. For 90 minutes you have to be a bunch of [expletive].

“You have to be intelligent [expletive], not stupid [expletive].”

Premier League preview: Tottenham v Leicester

Spurs defender could be set for Leeds move

Juan Foyth is one of several Argentine players to have been linked with a move to newly-promoted Leeds United.

According to TYC Sports , the 22-year-old has no intention of returning to South America if he is to leave Tottenham this summer.

Foyth has fallen out of favour under Jose Mourinho, making just seven appearances in all competitions this season.

That suggests he is likely to seek out the opportunity for more regular first-team football, though Leeds are also said to be interested in compatriot Martinez Quarta of River Plate.

It remains to be seen which of the two defenders they will prioritise.

Tottenham still in race to sign Napoli striker

Spurs remain in the battle to sign Napoli forward Arkadiusz Milik, according to Calciomercato .

The 26-year-old, who has scored 10 goals in 23 Serie A appearances this season, is also reportedly on Juventus’ radar.

The Italian champions are likely to prove a more attractive prospect for Milik, but Tottenham would almost certainly be able to guarantee him more playing time.

Mourinho is clearly in the market for a partner, or alternative option, for Harry Kane, whose season has been disrupted by injuries.
