Tottenham evening headlines as German star is linked, Mourinho's full-back anger revealed

Good evening, Tottenham fans. Here are your evening headlines for Monday, November 30.

Khedira open to move amid Tottenham links

Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira has not ruled out a move to the Premier League amid reports linking him with a switch to Tottenham.

The 33-year-old won the La Liga title under Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid back in 2012 and went on to lift the World Cup with Germany before winning the Scudetto in each of his five full seasons with Juventus.

But he’s dropped down the pecking order in Turin and doesn’t appear to be in Andrea Pirlo’s plans for the first team.

He’s yet to make an appearance this season and there were claims Khedira would be released from his contract before it expires next summer, although he says they were wide of the mark.

“There was no offer to terminate the contract. There was no talk about financial matters,” he told German outlet ZDF (via Sport Witness).

“If there is an opportunity to move to the Premier League, that’s an option.”

Reguilon moment summed up Spurs’ tactics at Chelsea

Tottenham Hotspur correspondent Alasdair Gold has identified one of the moments that summed up yesterday’s goalless draw away at Chelsea.

Mourinho went with a defensively-focused mindset as he returned to Stamford Bridge in search of at least a draw. Their yield of one point was better than they managed home and away against Frank Lampard’s Blues last term.

The Portuguese coach gave summer signing Sergio Reguilon something of a dressing down from his technical area as the left-back burst forward into the final third but gave away possession with an inaccurate cross.

Joe Rodon, making his full Spurs debut, received similar feedback when he strayed out of position.

Here’s the full story.

Latest injury news ahead of LASK test

Spurs travel to face Austrian side LASK on Thursday evening knowing three points will secure qualification to the knockout stage.

But Mourinho has plenty to think about in terms of his team selection, with the outing falling between two derbies against London rivals Chelsea and Arsenal.

Toby Alderweireld remains sidelined with a muscle injury, although it’s not as severe as first feared.

Matt Doherty has been cleared to play again after missing the last three matches after testing positive for coronavirus but it remains to be seen whether he’s match fit after missing training.

Erik Lamela remains out of contention with a foot problem.

Those issues limit Mourinho’s ability to rotate his squad, but he may look to turn to the likes of Gareth Bale, Dele Alli and Harry Winks as he did against Ludogorets last week.
