Here are the Tottenham Hotspur evening headlines for Thursday, June 11.
FA confirm Alli ban decision
Dele Alli is banned for Tottenham’s first Premier League match back against Manchester United.
The FA have confirmed the Spurs midfielder will miss the United game after being suspended with immediate effect, fined £50,000, and he must undertake an education course.
Alli was charged after posting a video where he appeared to mock an Asian man in an online clip about coronavirus.
The 24-year-old deleted the post and apologised for his behaviour. Read more about Alli’s ban here.
Lamela future update
Erik Lamela will be allowed the nine remaining matches of the season to convince Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho he has a future at the club.
Lamela’s future at Spurs is uncertain after another injury-ridden campaign and Football Insider claim the club are likely to listen to offers for the Argentine winger.
However, if the ex-Roma winger impresses between now and the end of the season, then he may force himself into Mourinho’s plans for next season.
Lamela arrived in north London back in 2013 after signing from Roma for £30m following the departure of Gareth Bale.
Spurs could offload four players this summer
Eric Dier is among a quartet of players Tottenham could sell this summer to raise funds for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, according to The Times.
Dier, along with team-mates Danny Rose, Kyle Walker-Peters and Serge Aurier could all be sold by Mourinho in the summer.
Rose and Walker-Peters have both been out on loan at points this season, whilst Dier and Aurier have both featured in the first-team.
Hojbjerg is a target for Spurs, and with his Southampton contract expiring at the end of next season, Mourinho’s side could get him for as little as £20m.
