Spurs have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Monaco defender Guillermo Maripan after the player confirmed he wants to move to England.

With links to Spurs as well as West Ham and Watford emerging, the player has put potential suitors on red alert.

Tottenham behind the scenes

"Personally, I’ve always liked the Premier League a lot, I’ve always wanted to play there and I am aiming there,” he told Radio Cooperativa via Teamtalk.

Spurs to punish Aurier for latest lockdown breach

Serge Aurier is set to receive a hefty fine from Tottenham bosses after breaching lockdown rules for a third time, according to the Evening Standard.

Having already made headlines after twice being pictured outside his home, Aurier this week posted a picture on social media of himself after getting a haircut.

Although he was in his home this time, the barber would have come from elsewhere to cut his hair.

A Spurs spokesman confirmed the club were aware of Aurier’s latest misdemeanor. “We are investigating the circumstances and will deal with the incident appropriately."

Attempting to defend himself, the Ivorian would hit back in an Instagram post: “My hairdresser is negative and me too so stop talking in a vacuum and put on masks and gloves when you come to take pictures at the training centre. It’s part of the rules too.”

In-demand QPR star looks to emulate Tottenham hero

QPR’s Eberechi Eze has pinpointed Dele Alli as an example to follow as he hopes to make the step up in his career.

The attacker who has starred for the hoops in the Championship with 12 goals and eight assists in 37 games, has been linked with a number of top flight clubs - including Spurs - as his reputation continues to grow.

Eze, 21, cited Alli, who signed from MK Dons in 2015, as his inspiration if he were to make a Premier League move.

"He's shown that it's possible to go from lower league and fit right in and even become more than what people expected you to be," he told The Beautiful Game podcast.

"When you look at guys like that, just like Raheem [Sterling] and [Jadon] Sancho, you appreciate what they've done and you look at them and it's a round of applause to you because they've actually done it."
