Tottenham evening headlines as £419m transfer spend analysed and Jose Mourinho's to-do list

Here are your Tottenham evening headlines for Wednesday, March 23

UEFA set to scrap FFP

UEFA are planning to overhaul the FFP regulations with the current rules set to be scrapped and replaced with a new set of system that will give clubs greater control over their spending power.

Any new rules that come into place are likely to be ones agreed upon by the clubs providing them with more licence to spend big when it comes to transfers without having to worry about sanctions.

This could lead to Spurs struggling to keep up with their rivals who would be more willing to splash the cash than Daniel Levy has shown himself to be at Tottenham in the past.

The new system could be in place as early as 2022 with agreements on salary caps and clubs being able to spend 'what is necessary' rather than 'spending as much as you can collect' on the UEFA agenda for a teleconference on Thursday with members of the European parliament.
