Tottenham Europa Conference League opponents confirmed as FC Pacos de Ferreira

Tottenham’s Europa Conference League opponents have been confirmed, with Spurs to face Portuguese club FC Pacos de Ferreira in the play-offs.

Spurs missed out on both Champions League and Europa League football after finishing seventh in the Premier Legue last season, but are still playing European football by virtue of Uefa’s new club competition.

Pacos saw off Northern irish side Larne 4-1 on aggregate, with a 4-0 first-leg home win more than enough despite losing the away leg.

They will now face Spurs in the play-offs for a place in the group stages. All 32 teams involved in the groups will have had to qualify via the play-offs, with none granted automatic entry to the competition proper.

The first leg will be played on Thursday 19 August, with the second leg coming a week later on 26 August.

Pacos, who finished fifth in the Primeira Liga last season, have been playing Portuguese top-flight football for the past 20 years.

Nicknamed Os Castores - The Beavers - Pacos play in yellow and green, and manager Jorge Simao will be looking to outwit compatriot Nuno Espirito Santo over the two legs.
