Tottenham duo agree new contracts with the club and deliver messages of pride

Teenage goalkeepers Adam Hayton and Aaron Maguire have expressed their pride at signing their first professional contacts with Tottenham Hotspur.

There has been something of a goalkeeper exodus at Spurs this summer with Pierluigi Gollini's loan spell ending with the first team and development squad keepers Kacper Kurylowicz, Thimothee Lo-Tutala, Josh Oluwayemi, and Isak Solberg all leaving the north London club following the conclusion of their contracts.

However, there have been new arrivals in England international Fraser Forster and 19-year-old Republic of Ireland youth international Josh Keeley. Now both Hayton and Maguire have put pen to paper to begin their professional careers with the club as they move up from the U18s to the U21 development squad.

Hayton, 18, appeared 12 times in all competitions last season for Spurs' U18s and featured on the bench for Wayne Burnett's development squad on five occasions.

After penning his deal, the Luton-born teenager posted on Instagram: "Proud moment for me and my family to sign my first professional contract. Time to keep pushing on!"

Seventeen-year-old Maguire made seven appearances in the U18 Premier League last season and also featured in the club's U17 Premier League Cup Final defeat to Manchester City. The teenager has represented both England and the Republic of Ireland at youth level.

In his own Instagram contract post, Maguire wrote: "Delighted to have signed my first professional contact. Proud moment for me and my family. The hard work continues."

Both players will now be competing for game time with Keeley next season in Premier League 2, rebranded this season as an U21s competition rather than U23s to bring it in line with other competitions in the game.
