Tottenham dealt major injury blow ahead of Liverpool trip with three key players ruled out

Tottenham Hotspur have been dealt a major blow after three of their players were ruled out of their trip to Liverpool on Sunday.

Eric Dier and Serge Aurier both picked up injuries on international duty, while Harry Winks sat out Spurs' last two fixtures before the international break.

And Mauricio Pochettino will have to do without the services off all three players at Anfield after Spurs ' Official Twitter account confirmed the trio remain sidelined.

Aurier limped off with a hamstring injury after only 30 minutes in Ivory Coast's Africa Cup of Nations win over Rwanda on Saturday evening and is currently being assessed.

Meanwhile, Dier suffered a hip injury early on in England's victory over Czech Republic last Friday and is continuing his on-field rehabilitation.

Having been substituted after 55 minutes against Borussia Dortmund with a groin injury, Winks had been expected to return against Liverpool . However, he too is continuing with his on-field rehabilitation with Sunday's game coming too soon for the midfielder.

The trio are Tottenham's only confirmed absentees after Dele Alli overcame injury to feature for England during the international break.
