Tottenham could explore Luka Jovic transfer as Harry Kane makes classy gesture

Here is your Tottenham morning digest for Friday, May 15.

Remembering what White Hart Lane meant to the fans

Tottenham’s new 62,000 seater state-of-the-art stadium is unquestionably one of the best arenas to watch sport in the world.

The club finally moved into the spectacular new ground in 2019, standing on the site of the beloved White Hart Lane.

No matter how spectacular the new stadium is, nothing can take away from the 118 years of history, character and fantastic memories of the old ground before it’s 2017 demolition.

Tottenham expected to take advantage of loan market this summer

With all the current uncertainty in the world of football, it is highly unlikely clubs will be spending big on transfers for the foreseeable future.

The impending economic downturn is likely to impact the entire world and football is unlikely to be exempt from that.

However, clubs will still look to strengthen and improve their squads and will need to be creative in how they approach what will be a very different transfer market.

Spurs will be among a number of Premier League and European teams looking at free transfers and loans as well as swap deals if they are to make any moves at all.

Football London’s Rob Guest takes a look at the realistic targets Jose Mourinho and the Tottenham hierarchy could consider when the summer transfer window opens.

Harry Kane makes ground-breaking sponsorship announcement

Spurs striker Harry Kane has been granted permission to sponsor the shirts of League Two side Leyton Orient in a first of its kind agreement.

Kane, who made his professional debut with the Os in 2011, has decided to support his old club and donate the sponsorship for the 2020/21 season to good causes.

The home shirt will bear a message of thanks to frontline heroes, while the away and third shirts will each bear the name of a different charity, with 10% of proceeds of each shirt sale passed on to that charity.

"I was born and brought up only at a couple of miles from the stadium and I am really happy to have the opportunity to give back to the club that gave me my first professional start," Kane said.

Full details of the momentous deal can be found here.
