Tottenham could beat West Ham to sign defender as Nuno Espirito Santo sent transfer message

Here are your Tottenham Hotspur headlines on Sunday, August 15.

John Terry’s Kane verdict

Harry Kane’s future at Spurs still remains uncertain, with the club standing firm on their stance of the player.

football.london understands that Daniel Levy will not consider a sale unless an offer of at least £150 million is made.

Large sections of the Spurs fanbase haven’t been impressed with the way their club captain has handled the situation but ex Chelsea legend believes that Kane has shown far too much loyalty to the club.

“To be honest, I think Harry has been very loyal to Tottenham," he told Stadium Astro on YouTube.

Dusan Vlahovic has recently been linked with a move to north London, and when considering the fact that the Serbian possesses a profile that matches the type of centre-forward Nuno Espirito Santos likes, it’s a signing that would make sense.

But former Tottenham Hotspur striker Louis Saha believes that the perfect replacement for Harry Kane is Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez, reiterating that the Argentinian shouldn’t have much problem in adapting to the Premier League.

“Lautaro Martinez would be a great replacement for Harry Kane," he told GentingBet.

“He’s Argentinian and they are usually very good at adapting to the Premier League. I don’t see any problem for this calibre of player.’’

Nikola Milenkovic’s potential Spurs transfer

According to recent reports, Fiorentina’s versatile defender Nikola Milenkovic’s potential move to West Ham has stalled and, according to Corriere dello Sport, it appears that Spurs are now in the frame to acquire the Serbian.

With less than a year left on his contract and Milenkovic yet to renew with the Italian club, a fee of around €15million (£12.76million) would be enough to get the deal done and over the line.

Italian giants Juventus have also been linked with the defender, with reports in Italy suggesting that a deal could be done in the coming weeks.
