Tottenham confirmed team vs Burnley: Oliver Skipp and Davinson Sanchez start, Steven Bergwijn sub

Antonio Conte has, as expected, made a host of changes to his Tottenham team to face Burnley following Thursday's embarrassing defeat against NS Mura.

Losing 2-1 courtesy of a stoppage-time winner in Slovenia in their penultimate Europa Conference League Group G match, Spurs need to get back to winning ways after such a hugely disappointing performance.

Going into today's game at Turf Moor seventh in the table, the Lilywhites will move ahead of Wolves and into sixth providing they collect all three points in Lancashire.

Always expected to revert to the team that beat Leeds United last Sunday, Conte has made two alterations to that XI for today's showdown.

Japhet Tanganga misses out on selection as Davinson Sanchez gets the nod on the right of a back three, with Oliver Skipp back in the side after missing out one week ago through suspension.

Steven Bergwijn returns to the matchday squad following his absence against NS Mura, with Joe Rodon missing out on the squad completely.

Speaking to Tottenham's official website ahead of the game, Conte has stated that he is expecting a very tough game against Sean Dyche's men.

“I know very well what kind of game we expect against Burnley," he said. “Burnley is a tough game, they play with intensity, they put pressure on, they play a lot of long balls and they are very good in set-pieces, so we have to pay great attention. But in this moment, we all have to think that we have to give more.”

He added: “Before a game, you have to know everything about your opponent. We are studying Burnley. They are working with a really good manager for many, many years, and this is important for them.

"I know the atmosphere will be hot, but we must be ready, ready to fight and to give everything to try to get the three points.”

Here is the Tottenham team Conte has gone with:

Tottenham XI: Lloris; Sanchez, Dier, Davies; Emerson, Hojbjerg, Skipp, Reguilon; Lucas, Kane, Son.

Subs: Gollini, Doherty, Tanganga, Sessegnon, Winks, Alli, Ndombele, Gil, Bergwijn
