Tottenham confirmed team vs Aston Villa: Tanguy Ndombele at number 10 with Dele Alli on bench

Nuno Espirito Santo has named the Tottenham Hotspur side that he hopes can secure a crucial momentum-swinging victory against Aston Villa in the Premier League.

Spurs need to get back to winning ways in the competition following three poor derby defeats, conceding three goals in each game.

Dean Smith's in-form Villa side will present another tough challenge at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Oliver Skipp impressed once again in Thursday night's Europa Conference League victory against NS Mura and he comes back into the team.

Harry Kane scored a 20-minute hat-trick from the bench with assists for both Lucas Moura and Son Heung-min on Thursday night and all three are back in the starting line-up.

Elsewhere Espirito Santo has decided on a centre-back pairing of Eric Dier and Cristian Romero for the match, while Emerson Royal gets the nod over Japhet Tanganga and Matt Doherty at right-back.

In the final midfield role, the Spurs boss has chosen the fresh Tanguy Ndombele over, Giovani Lo Celso, who grabbed a goal and assist in that game, with Dele Alli, for the first time in the Premier League this season, and Bryan Gil also dropping to the bench.

Here is the team Espirito Santo has chosen:

Lloris; Emerson, Romero, Dier, Reguilon; Hojbjerg, Skipp; Lucas, Ndombele, Son; Kane.

Subs: Gollini, Rodon, Sanchez, Doherty, Winks, Lo Celso, Dele, Gil, Scarlett.
