Tottenham fans may have noticed a slight change to the club's social media platforms on Friday morning.
Rather than having the current Spurs badge as the avatar on the likes of Instagram and Twitter, Tottenham instead opted for the original cockerel design to mark a century of the cockerel crest on its shirts.
As Friday celebrates 100 years to the day since the famous emblem appeared on Tottenham shirts for the first time in the 1921 FA Cup final victory over Wolves, Spurs have launched a campaign in salute to their iconic badge.
On Sunday the original cockerel will be on display at Wembley on seat coverings designed by the club when they take on Man City in the Carabao Cup final.
The campaign will then come to a close with Ryan Mason's team wearing their brand new Nike 2021/22 home kit for the very first time in their final home game of the season.
Aston Villa are the visitors to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the penultimate match of the campaign on Saturday, May 15 and Harry Kane and Co will be sporting special edition shirts that feature wording acknowledging the centenary of the cockerel.
Tottenham fans have already had a glimpse of Nike's latest home design with popular website Footy Headlines publishing pictures of the shirt back in March.
Opting for a rather simple design with navy logos and the red AIA sponsor standing out on the plain white shirt, the top also has a nod to the past as inside the V-neck collar is the club's first ever badge, as can be seen on all of Tottenham's social media platforms today to mark 100 years.
While those 'leaked' pictures weren't official confirmation of Tottenham's 2021/22 home kit, the club have now confirmed that the new home top does pay homage to the original cockerel design.
Tottenham have also confirmed that more on the new home shirt will be revealed in the coming weeks.
