Tottenham confirm Tanguy Ndombele's shirt number after club-record transfer

Tottenham have confirmed Tanguy Ndombele's shirt number as their new kits were unveiled on Thursday.

The club smashed their transfer record to bring the France international to north London from Lyon in a deal worth up to £65 million.

Ndombele on Wednesday departed with the rest of the Spurs squad to Singapore for Sunday's International Champions Cup game against Juventus before the players head to China to face Manchester United next week.

Thursday saw Spurs unveil their new home and away Nike designs for the 2019/20 season and, in a promotional video, Ndombele's new no.28 shirt can be seen hanging up inside the home dressing room.

The shirt number was last worn by Tom Carroll in the 2016/17 season and before that Kyle Walker between 2009 and 2013.

Paul Moran was the first player in the Premier League era to wear the number, while Jermaine Jenas had it for the 2005/06 season.
