Tottenham confirm Ryan Sessegnon deal as Hoffenheim seal season-long loan

Tottenham have confirmed that Ryan Sessegnon has joined Hoffenheim on a season-long loan deal.

The former Fulham star has been strongly linked with a short-term move away for months, with increased competition for places at Spurs following the arrivals of Sergio Reguilon and Gareth Bale.

Premier League sides Southampton, Leeds United and Brighton had all been linked with the 20-year-old, but Hoffenheim have won the race for the England Under-21 international.

It is understood that Jose Mourinho and Spurs are keen for Sessegnon to get game time as a left-back or left wing-back, with Tottenham seeing the former Fulham star's long-term future in that position.

Sessegnon moved to Tottenham from Fulham last summer in a deal worth £25 million, but has struggled for regular game time, making just 12 appearances in all competitions last season.
