Tottenham sign Jack Clarke from Leeds in £10million deal with winger returning to Elland Road on loan

Tottenham have completed their first signing since January 2018 having sealed a £10million deal for Leeds United’s Jack Clarke.

The last new face to arrive at Tottenham was Lucas Moura, brought in from Paris Saint-Germain 518 days ago.

Clarke will not be part of the Spurs squad for the forthcoming season, however, returning to Elland Road on loan for the 2019-20 campaign.

The 18-year-old has immediately returned to the Yorkshire club to begin pre-season training with Marcelo Bielsa's side.

“I’m delighted to join Tottenham and in the short term I’ll be giving my all to hopefully help Leeds win promotion," Clarke said.

Clarke made 25 appearances in all competitions for Leeds last season, scoring twice and setting up two further goals.

Tottenham are also closing in on a club record deal for midfielder Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon as Pochettino looks to freshen his squad up after almost two seasons without change.

Both Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen are expected to leave the club, with Anderlecht interested in the latter, while Tottenham are prepared to listen to offers for a number of players, including Kieran Trippier.
