Tottenham have confirmed plans for an open-top bus victory parade on Sunday, June 2, if they are successful in the previous night’s Champions League Final against Liverpool in Madrid.
The parade is scheduled to depart the stadium at about 2.30pm, travelling via Northumberland Park, Willoughby Lane, Lansdowne Road and Tottenham High Road, finishing where the High Road meets Park Lane roughly an hour later before the players and staff present the trophy to fans gathered around a temporary stage.
Tottenham were this week handed a boost to holding such a parade as Harry Kane, Davinson Sanchez and Jan Vertonghen returned to training as they step up their respective recoveries from injury ahead of the final, though the trio are yet to start contact with the group.
Kane has not played since suffering a fifth ankle ligament injury of his career - and second of the season - against Manchester City on April 9, while Vertonghen left Ajax’s Johan Cruyff Arena on crutches and in a protective boot following a less serious ankle issue sustained during the dramatic semi-final victory.
There is hope midfielder Harry Winks, who was included in England’s Nations League squad alongside Kane, could also be fit in time to face Jurgen Klopp’s side despite undergoing groin surgery last month.
With nine days to go before the final in Madrid, Liverpool, who have also scheduled their potential parade for the Sunday, are planning to play a friendly while on a training camp in Marbella. However, Tottenham will stick with individual training programmes devised by Mauricio Pochettino’s assistant, Jesus Perez, rather than a match before traveling to the Spanish capital on Wednesday.
